The pictures in this group is part of a series that I've been collecting for many years now. The images focuses on the interactions between people and their immediate surroundings. I chose the images in this book largely for two reasons: The first is, long standing appeal. Over the years they have sustained a certain ghostly and mystic vision for me. The images seem to work as well today as when I made them. The idea was to identify and capture the emotions of people and their immediate environment. The second guiding principle was that despite my changing visual journey and identity over thirty years as a photographer, those images remain the strongest and most successful up to date in celebrating the human spirit.
